Being a native of the area and having a familiar face around the community can only help when dealing with customers and their needs. Darrin's father, Ralph is a builder also and his mother Jaclyn does the bookkeeping, so it really wasn't too big of a surprise that Darrin ended up in the business as well. Since Darrin has been an Amwood Builder he has built over 45 homes and that number continues to increase year after year. Being an active Amwood Builder like Darrin meant putting in many hours of hard work to ensure customer satisfaction. A normal work week consists of around 40 hours on job sites and then at least an additional 10 hours doing paperwork and meeting with potential customers. Beyond the common more conventional types of advertising, Wilkening Custom Builders raises the bar a little and gives back to the customers that give to them. They believe in using the satisfaction of past clients to further their business. They get permission to show homes by appointment, giving potential prospects a true feel for the homes they build. And, if that weren't enough, if they sell a home to a new client after showing a previous one, the past client receives a small bonus! What a great program and a great way to keep all customers happy, previous and current. Word of mouth can make or break some companies and this is a wonderful way to help make a company.
