John Ferrara attended law school at American University in Washington D.C. after graduating from the State University at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After graduation, John honed his skills at the Legal Aid Society, representing people charged with everything from traffic infractions to murder. Increasing his thorough knowledge of the law with an extensive appellate practice, John has argued and won in the Court of Appeals, the highest court in New York State. Opening a private practice in Monticello in 1991, John soon brought his extensive trial experience and people skills to Family and Supreme Court. While still maintaining his extensive skills in criminal law, he expanded into divorce and family law. A past president of the Sullivan County Bar Association, John is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, the United States Supreme Court, the Southern District of New York State and the Second Circuit in Federal Court. Thoroughly at home in any of the courts here in Sullivan County or Albany, John Ferrara is always ready to bring his extensive skills and aggressive experience to bear on behalf of his clients.
