Smitter Pest Control continues operating under the ownership and guidance of the Smitter family. Founder Val Smitter studied entomology at Purdue University and became an expert in the field over his long career. Devoting his life to the industry, he served on numerous committees and organizations dedicated to pest control, including the Michigan Pest Control Association and the National Pest Management Association. He passed his knowledge onto his son John, the third generation in the Smitter family business and who currently runs the day-to-day operations with the guidance of his father.
