We are looking to provide a solution to many consumers that find themselves in the situation of weighing the options between the functionality and usefulness of a truck versus the lifetime dream of having the drivability and power/weight ratios only achievable in today's sports cars. Unfortunately, market prices of new vehicles forces the majority into this dilemma and usually ends up bringing out the sad reality that the Camaro or Corvette will 'just have to wait till later' while we throw large sums of cash at the ultimately more practical truck. Even trucks have gotten out of control for the average consumer. Full-size trucks have become a status icon while mid-size trucks slowly evolve into the capabilities of what 10 year old full-size trucks were when purchased brand-new. To the common user (those hauling the occasional trailer with four-wheelers and lawn-mowers), the $60K full-size truck capable of hauling over 12000 lbs is wasteful when new mid-size trucks can haul over 6000 lbs proving to be the more practical option for most. But lets face it, that mid-size truck is putting in serious work when hauling that kind of load, which leads to the OEM market response of trucks like the Duramax Turbo Diesel Colorado with impressive torque ratings, but relatively low horsepower, leading to a driving experience more focused on hauling versus an overall drivability improvement of responsiveness throughout the truck's functional range. We at Savage Engineering strive to mesh these scenarios with a responsive power and torque boost allowing the consumer to come to the wise conclusion that there is in fact a relatively economical solution to satisfying the inherent power crave while also bringing functionality home.
