• It all started with a trip to the party store 20 years ago. Jane Bennett, our owner, needed birth announcements and went to find some at the local party store. After purchasing the announcements, she left the party store feeling defeated and troubled about the lack of variety and customer service in the shop. She thought how nice it would be if there was somewhere in Athens to get quality invitations and announcements at an even higher quality of customer service. However, she pushed the thought to the back of her mind and didn't think about it again for some time. In 1997, the thought crept back into Jane's mind about opening a stationery store. She talked with her husband about the possibility of operating a studio from her basement, and a few months later, the possibility became a reality, and she's been in business ever since. Currently operating in a brick-and-mortar store in the heart of Athens, Georgia, we specialize in custom wedding, shower and party invitations, monogramming, stationery and gifts, and pride ourselves not only in our impeccable attention to detail but also in the fact that we make a point to build relationships with every client who walks through the door. At plainjane designs, you'll find more than a stationery store; we're a group of friends to stand by you through all seasons of life. We're here to nervously giggle with you while wedding planning, cry with you because of the loss of a loved one or celebrate with you over the birth of a child.
