• At Bituminous Materials, our world is blacktop. We deliver, install, and maintain it. Whether you need paving or other projects, our quality people, equipment, and experience ensure a job well done. Bituminous Materials is a family-owned company originally founded in 1963. We provide hot-mix asphalt paving, seal coating, and trucking services to Southern Minnesota and metro area regions. Our office and plant facility are located in Faribault, just 45 minutes south of Minneapolis and St. Paul on Interstate 35. Our mission is to complete every project with a level of quality and service that exceeds the expectations of our customers, allowing us to continually grow, prosper, and position ourselves as an industry leader in our region. At Bituminous Materials, job safety is a priority and part of our company culture. Safety, communication, commitment, direction, and accountability provide a safe work environment. Our AWAIR program policies and goals are reviewed and updated annually. Internal safety audits are conducted regularly by the company safety director. All BMI employees receive safety training as part of their annual orientation. In addition, our employees have completed OSHA 10 training, are certified in first aid and CPR, attend annual MSHA refresher training, and take part in weekly safety meetings scheduled by supervisors and arranged by our safety director. BMI offers employees additional incentives for maintaining safety awareness and are encouraged to identify any hazardous situation and take corrective action in order to maintain our company culture of "safety first."
